This is how Armenia welcomes you !!! You know you are in wine country the moment you land at the Yerevan airport where a 20-feet-tall inflatable wine bottle greets you outside the terminal . Armenia, along with Georgia, Azerbaijan, northern Iran and eastern Turkey constitute what is called the Cradle of Wine in the Caucasus Mountains. Wine-making supposedly originated here in biblical times. The meticulous Armenians have kept records of viticulture since Noah's time when the biblical patriarch planted the first vineyard at the foothills of Mount Ararat. Some of the highest wine-growing regions in the northern hemisphere, diverse microclimate and rich, volcanic soils lend distinct flavours to an array of indigenous grape varietals. Armenia is also known for brandy production. Driving around the country, the advertisements for Ararat brandy are everywhere. Visiting the Areni village for the wine is a must .
Long time .. Having my sister's wedding next month it's a tight schedule that's going on but I managed to visit the mylapore kapaleeshwara temple this evening .The main reason to go was sight seeing of dolls , flowers ,roadside shops, saravana bhavan hotel and the crowd .I bought few elephant and cow dolls then few park items ,glass bangles and the nostalgic pambaram for my brother . The feel was really energizing and colourful .What a beautiful place .For a moment i thought if at all I had a house there instead of nanganallur how great it would have been .Anyhow I am keeping it low ,no greed:) So I ended the day with idly sambar . I think you all should visit mylapore once in lifetime during navarathri just to get that feel. Posting few pictures for you guys . Post in your experiences or what you think about this post . Aksi posting my Chennai golu 2018. My Chennai house golu .
In Georgia I found so many beggars . Being from India , where you can see many beggars on the road , platforms , railway stations, temples and many other places i thought only India has beggars. In Dubai ,I have not seen any beggar . It was a real shock when I saw many in Georgia . I even found a beggar inside the Charles and Keith showroom where I purchased a shade for me . I have never seen a beggar inside a shop that too next to the cash counter . Not sure whether they are born Georgians or they moved from Istanbul / turkey . Heard Greece is getting bankrupt these days and these beggars might be from there . Or maybe they don't do anything much in life at Georgia , spent all the money they had for smoking and drinking and ended up begging ! Still wondering ! So many beggars at Georgia !! How could Georgia have so many poor people ? Trying to find an answer !
Wonderful pictures. Really all of them hit my heart.
